New York Governor Approves OCA Search Fee Increase

Attention IntelliCorp clients or anyone who utilizes background screening for employment purposes.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation (pertaining to the state’s 2019-2020 budget) that will raise the cost of the statewide OCA Criminal History Record Search (CHRS) from $65.00 to $95.00 per name and date of birth. The purpose of the $30 increase is to fund indigent defense programs in New York.

Once the OCA begins assessing the increased fee, you will see it reflected in the price you pay for that search. Please Note: This impacts all providers in the background screening industry, not just IntelliCorp.

Should additional information on the OCA CHRS fee increase become available, we will post updates to our blog page.
