Delaware Set to Enact Law Mandating Background Checks for Summer Camp Employees

The state of Delaware has a new law that will mandate background checks for summer camp employees. The Beau Biden Child Protection Act goes into effect on April 7, 2016.

Background checks are already required for childcare professionals and public school teachers in Delaware; this law is meant to provide a uniform standard for all employees who work with children. Schools and camps managed by private organizations are also included in this new law.

This law continues the national trend where organizations that employ individuals who work closely with children are mandated to undergo a background check. The public has come to expect that background checks are a reasonable requirement for these people.

IntelliCorp has been providing background screening services for summer camps for years. Visit our product pages to learn more about the services we offer.
